Sean is a retired Army First Sergeant and combat Veteran who served 22 years in uniform, and he and his wife Janice are both retired Army with a combined 43 years of service between them. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Missouri and a National Certified Counselor, holding a master's degree in professional counseling from Webster University and an Education Specialist degree in Community Care and Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University, where he is completing a Doctor of Education. As founder of WellSpring he provides clinical oversight for the organization, and he serves the region through Anchor of Hope Counseling Center, where his clinical work centers on trauma, grief and loss, anger management, military and Veteran issues, and suicide risk assessment and safety planning. He is a QPR Suicide Prevention Master Trainer, a Certified Anger Management Specialist II, and a trained civil mediator for the 25th Circuit Court and the Missouri Bar. Alongside the clinical work he mentors high risk youth in managing the destructive thought patterns that lead to undesired behaviors, bringing lived military experience and clinical expertise to preventing Veteran suicide at the community level.
